About

Let’s Raise Independent, Free-Thinking Kids—Starting in the Kitchen

In a world where nearly 67% of the American diet comes from ultra-processed food, our children are being shaped—physically, mentally, and emotionally—by systems that prioritize convenience and profit over health and resilience. Freedom Kitchen Kids exists to change that.

This platform is dedicated to raising independent, capable, free-thinking kids by teaching them how to cook real food, understand what’s in their meals, and make informed decisions for themselves. Highly processed foods are not just nutritionally empty—they are intentionally engineered to be addictive, disconnecting kids from their natural hunger cues, creativity, and confidence.

At Freedom Kitchen, we believe food education is life education. When kids learn to cook, they gain skills that extend far beyond the kitchen: critical thinking, self-trust, problem-solving, and personal responsibility. Our goal is to help set the next generation free—from addictive foods, from confusion about health, and from the idea that they are powerless in their own lives.

Change doesn’t start with restriction.
It starts with knowledge, skill, and choice.

And it starts in the kitchen.

Hi, I’m Lisa!

I’m the founder of Freedom Kitchen Kids — a cooking and food education platform built from years of real-world experience teaching children ages 5–18 how to cook, think critically, and care for their bodies.

I’ve spent years speaking and teaching in highly educated rooms — parents, professionals, health-conscious audiences — and one thing remains constant: confusion about what “healthy” actually means.

So let me be clear.

I do not believe in one perfect diet.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to food or health.

What I do believe in is helping people reconnect with their innate wisdom — the intelligence of their own bodies — instead of outsourcing health decisions to trends, headlines, or contradictory “experts.”

My Philosophy: First, Do No Harm

My approach to food and wellness is grounded in holistic principles, including yogic philosophy and elimination-based frameworks that help families identify what truly works for them.

At the foundation is ahimsa — non-harming.

It’s the same principle echoed in the Hippocratic Oath:
First, do no harm.

When applied to food, this means:

  • Removing unnecessary chemicals
  • Reducing exposure to toxins
  • Choosing real, nourishing ingredients
  • Teaching kids how to listen to their bodies

It sounds simple — and it is.

Somehow, we forgot.
Now it’s time to course-correct.

Change starts in the kitchen.

Why Freedom Kitchen Kids Exists

Freedom Kitchen Kids is built on a simple but powerful belief:

When kids are given courage, confidence, and creativity, they don’t just learn how to cook — they learn how to take care of themselves and think critically.

  • Courage to step into the kitchen and try new things
  • Confidence built through practice and success
  • Creativity to think beyond boxes — literally and figuratively

Cooking becomes a life skill.
Food becomes a form of leadership.
And kids grow into empowered decision-makers.

Freedom Kitchen is a place to gather, nourish, and love — created from my kitchen to yours, with my whole heart.
